Naked Night Swimming

Yard Work

We decided to finally get started on yard work. Back in November we pull out all the trees and bushes that lined the front and side yards. We pulled them out mostly because they were dead, but secondly because they were so insect infested.

After a lot of research on the Internet and a few trips to Lowes and HomeDepot we figured we needed to rent a stump grinder. However, when we showed up to rent the machine the guy suggested that we go home and dig as deep around the stump as we could get. At that point we figured we would just tie them up to the truck and start yanking them out. It worked like a charm! We pulled out 8 stumps and just have one more to go. The one left is a little risky since it has grown underneath the house. We might just have to hire somebody to remove it.

After consulting our neighbor for landscaping ideas she suggested that we go with pink jasmine, gardenia, japanese boxwood, and calla lilles as well as day lillies.

Now we just need to decide on the front plants. We decided that we are going to expand the flower bed in order to attained a layered look and give the house more dimension. We are also thinking of putting up an arbor above the front bedroom windows.
